Stories from our early users

Our beta started with 43 families across Cairo, Alexandria, Dubai, and Riyadh. Four moments in those six months moved the product.

1. The 7-year-old who refused to pick a crew name

A Dubai mum told us her daughter froze on the crew-name screen for three days. "Because if I pick one I might be wrong." We immediately made crew names changeable from the home screen, zero friction. Usage doubled.

2. The 11-year-old who built his own world

A Cairo boy used "ask Xplorer" 40 times in one week to ask about football — specifically, tactics. He effectively built himself a Football world that didn't exist yet. We added it as an internal prototype. It's slated for public release this summer.

3. The dad who used it as bedtime story

We'd never considered getXplain as read-aloud content. A dad in Alexandria started reading the 6-8 band lessons to his 4-year-old every night as bedtime stories. We added narration-first mode soon after.

4. The Ramadan engagement spike we didn't expect

Usage went up 60% during the second week of Ramadan 2024 — short post-iftar lessons, specifically. We optimised the "pick a 3-minute lesson" flow for Ramadan 2025 and are running A/B tests on a dedicated Ramadan mode.
